check config verifies if the config parameter is valid. If the validation report of the config:

contains at least one error, it is considered as invalid. check config then logs its error(s) and potential warnings, then fails with the Invalid_node_configuration error.
contains at least one warning but no error, check config logs its warnings then returns unit.
otherwise, it returns unit. If the config.disable_config_validation is set to true, the validation is not applied and check config returns unit.
